At Morning
As moss-pond, still-pond
The water-lice and their cousins
Vouch-safe the silence,
Their Feet upon the water.
He who also walks upon the water : grows.
Outwardly the water-lice
Feed as the pond supplies
To give birth & die
As Always.
He who also grows,
Also feeds and dies
To give silent birth
As the lice-pond
At Morning.
